About Us

Page Turners was founded in 2025 from a quiet but resolute belief in the power of literature—a tool to connect us. Rooted in South Africa’s rich tapestry of languages, cultures, and creative expression, the platform exists to showcase voices often overlooked and to make space for stories that deserve to be read, shared, and experienced.

Page Turners serves as a home for indie authors and small creators.A platform where self-published works can be sold, discovered, and revered. We would love to explore books in all South African languages, creating a literary landscape that mirrors the diversity of the country itself.

Beyond the digital space, Page Turners brings stories into the world through community events hosted in Pretoria designed to nurture a love for reading, connect with fellow book lovers and foster a growing literary community grounded in collaboration and care. Page Turners is more than just a marketplace, it is a community building gathering place. Through blogs dedicated to South African books, guidance for emerging creators, partnerships rooted in shared values, such as;

Mirari Press founded by Marius du Plessis

&

The Mzansi Cupcake Movement founded by Shavonne Bulmer

Both companies identify untapped talent, finding talented gems and give them an environment, emerging from their creative chrysalis as a fully rounded author with the tools to succeed. Page Turners began as a personal passion project and continues to grow, and we hope you’ll turn the page with us, to see the story it has yet to tell.
